3. How we use it
- To process, source and deliver your orders, including customs paperwork.

- To handle customer service, claims, exchanges and refunds.
- To run your account, referral rewards and offers.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.

4. Your consent
We collect, use and disclose personal data with your consent, or where the PDPA otherwise allows, such as to fulfil a contract with you or for fraud prevention. When you give us data for a purpose, such as placing an order, you consent to its use for that purpose.
You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer. We will explain what withdrawal means for you (for example, we can't deliver an order without your address) and act on it within a reasonable time.
5. Who we share it with
We share only what each party needs:
- Shopify, which runs our store, and our IT and email providers;
- payment processors and the instalment providers you choose at checkout;
- couriers and customs brokers, such as DHL Express and our local couriers, and customs authorities in the destination country for customs declarations;
- boutiques and suppliers, only where needed to source or deliver your order;
- Google, for analytics and advertising (section 13 explains your choices), and the app that runs our product reviews (Judge.me);
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers; and
- authorities, when the law requires it.
Measuring our ads. When you buy from us, including orders placed by WhatsApp or Instagram, we may share your email address and phone number with Google to find out whether our ads led to your purchase. Both are turned into an unreadable code (hashed) before they leave us, and Google uses them only to measure our advertising. We don't share your name, address or the items you bought. To opt out, email our Data Protection Officer at aman@modishus.com.
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Marketing
- We send marketing emails only if you subscribe. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it within 10 business days.
- We send marketing by SMS, WhatsApp or phone call to Singapore numbers only with your clear consent; otherwise we check the national Do Not Call Registry first.
- Order and service messages are not marketing, so they continue after you unsubscribe.
7. Transfers outside Singapore
Some of our providers, such as Shopify and Google, store or process data outside Singapore. When we transfer personal data overseas, we make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA, through contracts or the provider's certifications.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures: encrypted connections, access limited to staff who need it, and card payments handled by PCI DSS-certified providers. No system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you significant harm, we will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) as the PDPA requires.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above or the law requires. Order and payment records are kept for 5 years for tax and accounting. After that, we delete or anonymise them. Your account stays until you ask us to close it.
10. Access and correction
- You can ask our Data Protection Officer for a copy of your personal data, and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year.
- You can ask us to correct personal data that is wrong or incomplete. Corrections are free.
- We reply as soon as reasonably possible. If we need more than 30 days, we will tell you within 30 days when we can reply.
- We may charge a reasonable fee for an access request, and will tell you the amount before we proceed. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
11. Children
Our website is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 without a parent's or guardian's consent.
12. If you live outside Singapore
You may have more rights under the law where you live, such as the EU or UK GDPR. Contact our Data Protection Officer to use them. Our website also treats a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your data for advertising.
